First hospital visit having to do with myself.
First surgery (besides wisdom teeth surgery...doesn't count).
First attempt at beginning to recover a chair (or envisioning it at least).
First of many long car rides with Meg.
First time I've been alright with not knowing my academic future.
First time I've thought about actually shadowing a pathologist.
First time for my mom to let me do something mischievous.
First time my dad has really impressed me with his thrift shopping (auction) abilities.

All in a week....

Birthday Wishes...

Ok... a month without blogging. Check. It was never on the list, but it just happened that way. So now that that's behind us, I've been getting requests for a birthday list. In a mere 15 days I will no longer be a teenager. It's a wonderful life. Here are some quick ideas...

Yay for signing the lease on our new house! I'm so excited to live with two of my favorite people in the world. But I may be needing some big girl furniture? Yes. Can't wait to go to countless auctions and sales and thrift shops with my mom!

He Is Jealous for Me...

So tell me... Have you ever felt like God is being completely silent in your life? I know I feel this feeling often. Lately, I have been bitter about this fact. Why won't God just tell me what he wants me to do? I must sound like a complete freak going back and forth. "I trust God." "I don't know why God won't tell me what He wants." "I love Him." "He's making me mad."... all of the above. Well, in the midst of my bitterness, I felt a small wink from Him yesterday...

"Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. he will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Drastic Life Change....

I know this is completely ridiculous. But I am about to go there. I'm about to blog about sandwiches. I just ate a delicious cranberry chipotle turkey sandwich. A while back, my room mates and I went to a farmer's market here in town and purchased three different kinds of salsa. Personally, I chose a cranberry salsa that is delicious, but not so great with chips (because it's sweet I think). So I just added it to a turkey and swiss sandwich. Delicious. Then, I was inspired to look up other unique sandwich recipes. I don't know about you, but plain old turkey sandwiches get old really fast... Maybe you need a little inspiration... I know I do sometimes.
